Quail Hunts

Southern Tradition, English Style

Enjoy a southern-style quail hunt with an English-style feel intended to take the hunter back in time to when quail were plentiful, the country-side was unspoiled and there was no greater enjoyment than to spend a crisp day in the woods with trained dogs and your family and friends. Try our voice-activated skeet and trap single warm-up station. Then, take a mule-drawn wagon ride through the Georgia Piedmonts to a cleared patch where abundant quail are waiting, all while being immersed in the sight of plantation-cut courses and the sound of a nearby creek.

Our hunts are designed to make the hunter feel like you have the place to yourself.  There is no overlapping of booking which means, for example, that if you schedule a half day in the morning, there may be a second party allowed to schedule in the afternoon but you and your party have the courses to yourself in the morning.  Schedule a full day hunt and the courses are yours for the day.

The hunts include a trained pointer, usually an English Pointer or a GSP, an English Cocker flushing dog, a hunt guide and driver, many more  birds set per hunter than the 12 bird limit, and a ride to the fields in a mule wagon (when the mules decide to work) or a Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT 1000 Ranch Platinum Edition utility vehicle. We provide complementary bottled water and coffee. If you would like to schedule a meal, we can arrange catering for breakfast, lunch or dinner at our pondside gazebo.  Lunch is included with a full day hunt.  Before you hit the courses, we provide the opportunity to “warm-up” at our voice-activated clay target station. The warm-up station includes two clay throwers one set in the skeet and the other in a trap position. Each hunter is allowed six complimentary shots at clay targets and additional clays are available for purchase at $2 per clay target.

12 birds per each hunter is included in the hunt price.  This means that each hunter may individually shoot up to 12 birds. “Sharing” of birds with fellow hunters in the party is not allowed.  Additional birds may be purchased in excess of 12 for $7 per bird.
